PT. East Kalimantan Methanol Industry. in collaboration with the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) UGM, holding community service activities on an ongoing basis, this event is aimed at children with special needs (ABK).
The MoU has been signed between the General Director of PT KMI, Ir. Agus Priyatno, IPU with the Dean of FKG UGM Dr.drg. Ahmad Syaify, Sp.Perio (K), on January 17, 2019.
Community service activities were carried out on Tuesday (28/1/2020) in Bontang, East Kalimantan.
Apart from the Dean, the team from the UGM FKG involved in this activity, namely the Deputy Dean, drg. Trianna Wahyu Utami, MDSc., Ph.D, Prof. Dr. drg. Widowati Siswomihardjo, M.S, drg. Supriatno, M.Kes., Ph.D, and Dr. drg. Indah Titien S.U., Sp, KGA (K).
Meanwhile the General Director of PT KMI, Ir Agus Priyatno, accompanied by General Manager Muhammad Irfan, along with all levels of managers of PT. KMI.
This activity in the form of socializing ABK dental health care involved around 100 parents of ABK, most of them came from the PT KMI buffer zone area.
The alumnus of the UGM Faculty of Engineering who is also the Chairman of KATGAMA and a member of the Board of Trustees said that the priority of this activity is for residents in the buffer zone area, which is also the target of his CSR.
Although in the future it could be residents of other areas in Bontang who become targets.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FKG UGM, Ahmad Syaify, said that this community service activity was the first time it had been held.
Furthermore, it will be carried out in a structured and sustainable manner over the next three years.
"The activities are designed comprehensively covering education, prevention (preventive), treatment (curative), function recovery (rehabilitative), and final evaluation," explained Syaify.
Along with community service, field research related to the dental and oral health of crew members will also be carried out in the buffer zone area.
For medical dental procedures, UGM FKG and PT KMI collaborated with Pupuk Kaltim Bontang Hospital.
