The increasing number of Covid-19 patients in Bontang, underlies PT Kaltim Methanol Industri (KMI) to hand over a total of 25 tons of liquid oxygen and medical oxygen gas, Wednesday (28/7/2021). The handover of aid was carried out at the Bontang Mayor's Office House (Rujab) and later it would be handed over in stages to hospitals and health centers in Bontang.
Deputy Plant General Manager of PT KMI, Listyawan Adi Pratisto said PT KMI handed over liquid oxygen and medical gas oxygen for the needs of the Bontang community, especially those affected by Covid-19.
Currently PT KMI is preparing an oxygen (gas) filling facility for medical use at PT KMI's Plant Site. The facilities and infrastructure for these facilities are in the process, later when everything is complete, the medical oxygen filling facility will be used to help provide medical oxygen in Bontang City. “Hopefully this contribution can benefit people who are sick. Hopefully he will be given a speedy recovery," hoped Listyawan.
PT KMI's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) assistance is given in stages, it is hoped that in the future it can continue to help the City Government in helping the Bontang community who need oxygen, during the healing period of covid 19.
Meanwhile, Bontang Mayor Basri Rase appreciated the assistance provided by PT KMI to the Bontang City Government. This is a form of synergy between the Bontang City Government and several companies in Bontang, one of which is PT KMI. This assistance is considered very useful for the people of Bontang, considering that the government through the Health Service (Dinkes), hospitals, and the community desperately need oxygen.
"Hopefully with this assistance, hospitals and health centers can provide better services to people who are being exposed to Covid-19. Because the availability of oxygen is currently needed," said Basri.
He hopes that this gradual assistance will not only be in the form of oxygen cylinders but can be equipped with oxygen regulators that can be used for Covid-19 patients. "I also ask for the supply of an oxygen regulator. Because if it's just a tube without a regulator, it's not complete," Basri hoped.
At the end of the event, Basri also prayed for the PT KMI extended family to always be given health, safety, blessings, and continue to grow. So that it can provide benefits for the region, nation and state.
